In Loving Memory of Jason Gaumond

Jason Gaumond died Tuesday, 1/27/04 from a fall while hiking at Huntingtons Ravine on Mount Washington, NH. Jason was 31 years old.

Jason graduated from Lyndon State College, Lyndonville, VT. He majored in Outdoor Education and Recreation. While in college he was a member the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp. He did his internship at Tahoe National Forest. While in Tahoe he worked for the National Forest Service, Ski Patrol and was a firefighter.

He later worked in Waikiki, Oahu for the Outrigger Hotel.

He returned to New England and worked at the Sugarbush Ski Resort in Warren, VT. This is when he adopted a senior pug, Buster, from a rescue league. He and Buster were two peas in a pod. They were inseparable.

Jason and Buster then moved in with his family in MA. They got to love Buster and refer to him as their "grand-dog".  They then started searching the internet looking for a pug that they could rescue. That is where they found Nibbles.
Nibbles got attached to Jason right away. He was like the Pied Piper of Hamlin with Buster and Nibbles.

Jason was an avid alpine and cross country skier, snow-shoer, hiker and cyclist.

Jason's mother, Sylvia, has asked that donations be made in his name to a Precious Pugs Rescue and Adoption.  She feels that this is exactly what he would have wanted. Donations in Jason's name may be sent to:
