The Great Pug Adventure!!

PPRA and another pug rescue have been called upon from Green Mountain Pug Rescue to help rescue pugs that are coming into our organizations due to the closing  of a mid west breeder.  PPRA is taking in 12 pugs.  They will have rabies and required inoculations, be neutered/spayed and receive any other medical intervention that may be necessary. They are being transported to a meeting location so that the rescues may pick them up. This is a TEAM effort with rescue and entails much coordination and effort.  Without this undertaking, the innocent lives of these pugs would be in jeopardy.  They will be arriving soon and will be going into foster care where they will be evaluated and will be provided a safe and loving temporary home. They will be available for adoption soon so please keep checking our website if you are interested in adopting one of these precious puglets. If you are interested in adopting one of these pugs, please complete our online application at www.ppra.org

They have already been through so much in their short lives and they need stability. We expect that our vet bills will be high from this group.  Any donation is greatly appreciated.  This has been a very busy year for PPRA and we expect 2009 to be even busier.  We at PPRA thank you for your interest and support in pug rescue.

THE GREAT PUG ADVENTURE

In December and again in January, PPRA was asked by Green Mountain Pug Rescue to help take in pugs from a closing Puppy Mill in the Midwest. There were 30 pugs who needed to come east to get into rescues.  PPRA was able to take in 12 pugs.  (BB, Lily, Hope, Maggie, Lil Bad, Swinger, Buddy, Ebony, Cutie, Cracker Jack, Harley and Annie) PPRA, like the other rescues, paid to get them updated on vaccines, spayed/neutered, dentals/extractions and transportation. Some of those pugs needed additional medical care for eye infections, ear infections, dental infections, luxating patellas and Leggs Perthes Disease.  Our total cost for these twelve pugs was over $7000!  Please click on the link to read about this amazing event! http://thegreatpugadventure.shutterfly.com/

In January 2009, PPRA was again called upon by Green Mountain Pug Rescue to help with six more pugs that needed to come to rescue from a closing Puppy Mill.  PPRA took 4 of these puppas (Scout, Roxie, Shelli Lynn and Mr. Peaches)  Again, PPRA paid to have these pugs get updated on vaccines, spayed/neutered, dentals/extractions and transportation.  Scout needed additional care for his eyes.  Their total cost was over $1500!  Please click on the link to see these beautiful puppas!

In less than a month, PPRA was able to help 16 pugs start their new lives on the East Coast!  We have placed almost all the pugs from both runs!  In order to continue to help pugs in need, we are trying to raise $8500 to replace the monies into our medical fund.  We hope you will consider donating to help PPRA continue on it's mission.....to help the precious pugs of this world!!

Checks/money orders should be made out to PPRA. Please send donations to:
