Happy Birthday PPRA!!

PPRA is TEN YEARS OLD!!!  Our organization was started in January 1999 by the Malgieri family to help pugs in need.  Our mentors were Southeast Pug Rescue and Adoption (SEPRA) and Alabama Pug Rescue (APRA).  Without their support, guidance and patience, PPRA would not have been able to be the successful rescue it is!! We are in the process of obtaining our 501c3 status.

Many people call PPRA a "Mom and Pop" Organization because we make our applicants feel as though they are part of this wonderful rescue family!! Since its inception in January 1999, PPRA helped over 800 pugs!!  Additionally, PPRA is proud to share that three other pug rescues have been created in the Tri-State/New England area due to their membership and participation in PPRA.  We are so grateful to have past PPRA members start their own rescue in order to continue to use all they learned during their tenure in our organization! Members branching out on their own to start Pug Rescues after being part of PPRA and continuing on the PPRA Philosophy is a special gift and a great "honor." It's wonderful to share PPRA's great accomplishments during it's DECADE CELEBRATION!!!

PPRA is an all volunteer rescue organization dedicated to helping pugs.  We are proud to have "Junior Members" of PPRA.  Junior Members donate their time to help the pugs in need as part of their Community Services requirements for the various organizations they belong too.  It's wonderful to have our "youth" be part of the rescue movement in the Northeast.  These young people will be the future leaders of rescue!!

PPRA continues to network with other pug and non-pug rescue organizations in the Northeast and across the U.S. Additionally, we have helped pugs as far away as Alabama and Oregon!! PPRA has many members located throughout the tri-state area and in New England.  Our members work as a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More).  Please do read about our recent accomplishments due to the memberships hard work and dedication to helping the precious pugs of this world....

2008 was a very busy year for PPRA and we expect 2009 to be even busier. We are so extremely grateful to our staunch supporters who continue to donate to our organization.  We at PPRA thank you in advance for your interest and support in pug rescue!!!
